Audio Visual Facilities for ACTIS Group
Actis Group (formally CDC Capital Partners) recently approached Feltech to provide a complete AV solution for their new London Head Office at More London Riverside. The purpose built meeting and conference rooms features an elegant and powerful combination of state of the art products. The clients vision was to create two large conference rooms, each of which could be sub-divided to create two smaller meetings rooms as well as six additional meeting rooms over two floors. Full functionality was needed in both large and small rooms, to included display of a wide variety of video and audio sources, data reproduction and video and audio conferencing.
The system design required all equipment racks to be hidden in custom units, Barco projectors were installed within the ceiling voids and plasma and LCD displays were set into walls behind wooden fascias.
Large Meeting Room – Open Configuration
As the conference rooms were deployed over two floors, all the signals between the IT suite and conference rooms had to be run over a dedicated CAT6 structured cabling system. This required the use of multiple Mauve Systems CAT6 transmitters and receivers to handle the considerable number of video, audio and XGA data signals.
Within the IT Suite, a master control system was installed to house the source devices such as DVD, VHS video players, Freeview digital receivers and Tandberg multipoint video conferencing codec. Matrix switchers for video, audio and data signals where installed to allow signal routing of devices to the many meeting rooms. An AMX control system was chosen. Each of the eight meeting rooms has its own system controller which in turn is linked back to a master controller over a dedicated network.
Standard Meeting Room
The user interfaces are a wireless 7.5” Modero touch screens; the programme was designed so that the client had the ability to allocate or revoke devices to any room using a web interface. Having this feature, the user only ever has icons on their touch screen for devices they have booked. At the end of a meeting the system administrator is able to de-allocate central replay and conferencing resources which then become available to other users.
Initial Contract Value: £250,000
